One of my posts at "香港 (Hong Kong) 地區 Xbox 討論區" dated "05-01-2006, 03:31AM":
You are letting the cat out of the bag. It is do able for as long as we or I’ve know. But, in a way we are telling them how to "Soft Mod" the Hard drive…. Are they "Ready" yet?? Some of them can be a 9 year old.
I don’t see what’s the modding issue here. Or maybe I didn’t get your meaning right.
It’s an official, supposed-to-be feature of the console to hook up storage devices via USB. Merely telling someone how to format a drive is same as telling someone how to operate an ipod. You can buy ready-to-use USB drives or assemble your own.
Me – for example – bought an identical drive to my laptop, put it into a USB2 case and hook it up to the laptop. Same with the console. It’s not replacing the primary Xbox drive; therefore should not interfere with the system at all.
